4K's Observations from September 2008
We are going to be taking photos of a beautiful tree on the west side of our school on the front lawn for this collaborative Internet project.
On Thursday, September 19, 2008 at 2:05 PM we went outside to take our photo and notice what was going on outside!
Our weather report for the afternoon of September 10, 2008:
- it was very sunny outside
- it was warm outside
- there were just a few clouds coming from the west
- it was a bit windy
- the wind was coming from the east
- it was a little humid
- it was a pretty calm day
We noticed that:
- the temperature was 88F on our classroom thermometer, but 68F according to the Intellicast web page. We think the big difference is because the thermometer is right in the sun on a brick building on the west side of the building
- there are lots of crickets and grasshoppers on the playground
- we hear and see lots of birds still around the neighborhood
- just a few leaves are starting to turn yellow
- we are starting to see lots of squirrels
- there are wasps and yellow jackets flying around
- it was perfect weather for playing outside for recess!
