4K's Observations from January 2009

We are going to be taking photos of a beautiful tree on the west side of our school on the front lawn for this collaborative Internet project.

On Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at 2:10 Xavier and Lizzie went outside to take our photo and notice what was going on outside! 

Our weather report for the afternoon of January 13, 2009:

• it was windy with the wind coming from the WNW

• it was sunny and bright

• it was very, very cold!

• the temperature was 7 degrees F with a windchill of -6 degrees F

   

We noticed that:

• we don't see any animals or birds outside
• we could hear and feel the gusty winds
• there is snow and ice on the ground
• there are not too many cars going by
• it is too cold for kids to play outside so they are having inclement recess
• we need to wear very heavy duty winter clothes outside
• the sky is a beautiful blend of blue colors
• there are no clouds in the sky
• when we drove by the Lake we saw lots of whitecaps and high waves
• there is more snow and very cold temperatures in the forecast!
